Tempeh is a famous Indonesian food made by the controlled fermentation of cooked soybeans or other substrates with the help of fungus Rhizopus oligosporus.
Why should I eat tempeh?
Tempeh is highly nutritive and contains health promoting phytochemicals like isoflavones and saponins. The fermentation process actually produces natural antibiotic agents while leaving the desirable soy isoflavones as well as the saponins intact. Our tempeh are made with 3 ingredients only: water, tempeh starter and soybeans or other beans, pulses and lentils. That gives you plenty choices for your own customised tempeh. Vinegar is added during the inoculation process to provide a favorable environment for the growth of fungus Rhizopus oligosporus.
